CA 1949, moved to Hollywood 1962, started working part time 1963 at West Coast Specialty Co., graduated Hollywood High '67, LACC graduated with Police Science degree, worked doing process serving too stressful! Took a 3 month class on construction at Trade Tech in L.A. Continued to work for West Coast until 1989, doing sales/installations of draperies, shades, blinds and shutters.

Happily married since 1970, 3 children, 2 grandchildren, life's good. I have always enjoyed being in peoples homes helping them create a more comfortable environment.

What are some important things to know about various types window coverings?

Shutters- great value, long life, adds worth to home price.

Draperies- Softens the feel of room, and helps keep room quieter.

Vertical Blinds- Pet and child friendly, low maintenance, low cost.

Cellular Shades- Great insulating for heat/cold, room darkening, softening sound.

Shades- Roller shades low cost, low maintenance, higher end fabrics see through qualities (restaurants like solar shades).

Roman Shades- More elegant look, good also for softening the room.

Wood Blinds- good for controlling light.  Horizontal blinds are higher maintenance for cleaning.

Aluminum Mini-Blinds- less expensive, cost more in time due to heat/cold loss. slats bend and crease, (rec. this product the least)

How do you set yourself apart from other's offering the same product?

My knowledge of these products and others is always increasing with the classes I take, and hands on experience doing most of the installations.   My goal to serve my clients in finding the best possible solution to their window covering needs continues to drive me to excellence.  Anyone selling or installing Window coverings is required by law to have a California contractors license mine is "903002"  if selling less than 3 products or services it MUST be specific to the trade, mine is specific specialty license for Window Coverings.
